Terms of Service

Effective August 6, 2026 · Last updated August 6, 2026

Draft — pending legal review. These terms describe how the product and its billing actually work, but they have not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer and the bracketed placeholders are not filled in. Do not rely on this as a final agreement.

These terms govern your use of ContextHive, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY] ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them. If you're agreeing on behalf of a company, you're confirming you're allowed to.

The service

ContextHive is a shared support inbox with an optional AI agent. We provide it as-is on a subscription basis, and we may change features over time. If we remove something you depend on, we'll tell workspace owners by email before it goes.

We do not guarantee a specific uptime percentage. We are a small team building in public and we would rather commit to nothing than commit to a number we can't honour.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your account, for keeping credentials secure, and for the conduct of everyone you invite. Tell us promptly at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think an account has been compromised.

You must be at least 16, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live.

Acceptable use

Don't use ContextHive to:

  • send unsolicited bulk messages, or anything else that would be spam
  • store or transmit malware, or attempt to breach our systems or another workspace's data
  • process special-category personal data — health records, biometric data, and similar — unless we've agreed to it in writing beforehand
  • break the law, infringe someone's rights, or harass people
  • resell the service, or run it as a proxy for a third party we haven't agreed to
  • deliberately overwhelm our infrastructure, whether by automation or volume

We can suspend a workspace that's doing any of these. Where it's reasonable to, we'll warn you first.

Your content

Your data stays yours. You grant us the licence needed to host, process and transmit it in order to run the service, and nothing beyond that.

You're responsible for having the right to process the personal data you put into ContextHive, and for telling your own customers what you're doing with it. Where we process end-customer data on your behalf, we act on your instructions as your processor.

AI features

The AI agent generates replies from the knowledge you provide. Language models can produce incorrect output. You are responsible for what your workspace sends to your customers, including anything the agent sends automatically.

We give you controls to manage that risk: a draft mode where nothing sends without a person approving it, a confidence threshold, and escalation. Use them at whatever setting fits your risk tolerance. We can't accept liability for the content of generated replies.

Billing

Per seat. You pay for each person who can sign in to your workspace, plus any pending invitation that hasn't been accepted yet. Your customers are never counted, however many of them write in.

Proration. Add a seat mid-cycle and you're charged for the remaining days. Remove one and the unused portion becomes a credit against your next invoice.

Intervals. Monthly or annual. Annual is billed once up front at the equivalent of ten months. You can switch at any time and the difference is prorated.

Payment. Handled by Stripe. Failed payments are retried; if payment keeps failing we may downgrade the workspace to the free plan or suspend access.

Free plan. Real, and not time-limited. It has caps on seats, inboxes and monthly conversations. Hit the conversation cap and existing threads keep working — new conversations from first-time contacts pause until the next cycle or an upgrade.

Price changes. We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change affects you.

Refunds. We don't offer refunds for partial periods except where the law requires it. You can cancel any time and keep access until the period you've paid for ends.

Cancellation and termination

Cancel from billing settings whenever you like. We may terminate or suspend for a material breach of these terms, or for non-payment.

After termination we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Export what you need before you go.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows.

To the maximum extent permitted, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to workspace owners before they take effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
